Is Miami a good place for a winter family vacation? Kids would be 5 and 8. If yes, where would you recommend staying—both region/neighborhood and specific lodging recs. I see a few threads with some ideas for things to do in the Miami area with kids, but many of the threads seem to be from posters who already know where they are staying, or who are in the area visiting relatives/friends, so would love any recs for starting from scratch! Very interested in the Everglades, and could stay closer to the park entrance for a couple nights if that makes sense. |
If you’re that concerned about kids just go to Disney.
No reason you can’t go to any standard hotel in Florida with a pool and your kids can’t have a good time. They go swimming, play on the beach etc. This isn’t that complicated. |
Op here—would love some neighborhood recs, where to stay to be in good proximity to kid friendly activities, any ideas like that. Looks like it is a big area so that could help narrow it down. Thanks for any ideas people might have! |
Traveling to Miami isn’t different than any other city. Google kids museums. Take your kids to the beach. Have you not ever taken your kids anywhere before? You don’t need to travel to Miami to do kid friendly activities. Just stay home and save yourself thousands. |
Sure. Mid beach is nice. Faena is a nice hotel if you can swing it |
Miami itself is really urban. Is that what you are looking for? |
I’m not sure what you mean by a good place for a winter vacation. My in-laws live there and we go there often in the winter. The weather can be hit or miss, but we have more hits than misses. |
Is this the same person who posted the first reply? Or are there multiple people like this on this thread? |
OP here. Yup, we love urban destinations and would also enjoy going somewhere warmer in the winter. (Versus say Boston.) |
