I have read all 8 Mick Herron Slow Horses books now, plus the novellas and I'm in a deficit.
Any suggestions? |
| i wouldn’t characterize them as funny, but the Mrs. Pollifax series is on the lighter side. Mrs. Pollifax is a grandmother who decides one day that she’d like to be a spy, so she goes to the CIA and volunteers. The books were written during the cold war, so they’re somewhat dated, but still delightful. |
| How about Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Rayburn? Or Richard Osman’s Thursday night mystery club series? |
I came here to recommend Killers of a certain age! Thought it was a fun take on spies. |
| Thanks for the recs so far! |

Have you read anything by Janet Evanovich?
She has written 29 books about Stephanie Plum, who is a bail bondsman working for her cousin Vinnie in Trenton New Jersey. |
I have not heard of these. Are they Spy Thrillers? |
I am the person who suggested you might enjoy books by Janet Evanovich. No, they are not specifically "spy thrillers". Although the protagonist often does some spying, it is generally spying on people in her own home town. The books are crime novels with a lot of humor. |
Ok good enough. I will check them out - thanks! |
I've tried a couple times to read the first Stephanie Plum book but just can't get into it. I do, though, really like Evanovich's Fox and O'Hare series! |
| I've enjoyed The Terminal List books (there are six, the most recent just came out). |
okay - will check them out! |
