I am very early career and work in audit at one of the big 4 accounting firms. I make $75k. Averages out to about 50 hours/week if you took an average for the whole year.

I’m late career and oversee several highly technical government projects at the level of about $500M/yr total. This probably averages around 50hrs/week, requires many weeks a year of travel, and is pretty relentless. With bonus I earn $185K/yr.

Why don't you go first.

Neil Armstrong's historic moonwalk lasted two hours and 40 minutes. Based on his salary and a 40-hour work week, that means he would have been paid roughly $33 for his time on the moon.

This is a fantastic idea. Transparency in salaries is extremely important for pay equality and helping young people understand the potential (or lack thereof) in their fields.

Me: Govt contractor for biotech (pharmaceuticals), mid career, 175k. No bonus

DH: Remote video game design & programming work for a company in CA. 155k, 20k bonus, mid career

(Mid career = between 5-10 years experience)

Engineer, not software. $200k, above average benefits. I probably could make more in a different job but I probably at work 35 hours a week most weeks with lots of autonomy. The work is interesting and my colleagues are mostly good to work with. sometimes some low-level emailing or communications evenings and weekends, and rare surge periods, where I work extra hours. Maybe up to 50.

Finance. 40 hours a week. $200K.
