Hello
I have a question for TJ parents. My son will be starting TJ next year and he is planning to take virtual PE in summer. Can you tell me how to register him? What should we do? Thank you in advance |
You want to go to ACE Online and look for Health and PE 9:

Only physically active kids should take summer PE to opt out of school-year PE! |
Talk to your counselor. The virtual Virginia course is great. Highly recommend it. |
My daughter is opting to do the self-directed personal finance course for this reason. My kid, while active, does not play sports and we are following the school's rec to keep PE in freshman year so they have some "room to breathe." |
Same for my rising freshman— taking person finance over the summer instead of PE. |
So Virtual Virginia is acceptedby TJ. My son doesnt need to take it thru FCPS. Thank you |
Good decision - Current TJ Parent |
My incoming freshman is also doing this (economics and personal finance). |
Is it thru acelonline and the course code SGH0210 Economics and Personal Finance? I was looking for online class. This class runs from 8AM till 2 PM everyday for 4 hours? Is that correct? |
There should be a self-paced one through FCPS. Not sure if the sign up deadline has passed. |
Yes there is but I think that one is on campus. I was looking for sthg online. But tbe online one seems 4 hours a day is that the case? |
The sign-up date for the self-paced class closed on Friday as the class starts on Monday. Don’t know if you can ask for an exception. |
Is it completely online? Is the class 4 hours per day? Can you please let me know how many hours needs to be dedicated per day? Thank you |
The registration closed May 19 (not Friday—I got the dates mixed up, my apologies). Here’s a link: https://www.fcps.edu/academics/summer-learning/self-directed-economics-and-personal-finance |
