| Is it just me or are the small pebbles getting worse? Every time I drive on 495 now my windshield gets pelted by small rocks kicked up by cars. I got a sizable crack a few weeks ago that needed to be filled. |
| It's the trucks report them |
| Are you following too close? |
+1 in a small car? |
| 495 is being resurfaced right now, yes? |
Not OP, but I am not following too close and am in a small SUV. Right after I got the SUV in 2019 I got a pebble ding in the windshield almost immediately. Got that one fixed and promptly got another one. Each time on 95, and the chips are on the passenger side. |
| Pebbles on 66 from construction cracked our windshield on two separate occasions. We hate 66. |
Nope I leave plenty of distance and it happens a lot from cars in adjacent lanes |
| Me, too. I got hit by a pebble coming off the elevated EZPass lane on 495 north of Tysons. Had to have the entire windshield replaced before long. I’ve been hit a few other times on the same stretch. Was before the current construction began. I think it has to do with the design of the pay lanes. |
