Someone broke a sprinkler head and the system activated, leading to flooding in part of the school.
No virtual learning - some kids could not retrieve belongings. They can get their stuff tomorrow during open hours emailed to them. The Busch Gardens trip for some music students will proceed as planned. School hopes to reopen as usual on Tuesday after Memorial Day. |
| We had to wait outside for 3 hours. It was hell. |

| What exactly happened to the sprinkler and how can I make it happen at my school? |
Word is that a kid broke the sprinkler head intentionally as a prank. Since the water had been sitting there for a long time, it was very discolored, leading to easy identification of the student. So... think twice. Students have been criminally charged for causing extensive water damage after intentional tripping of sprinklers. |
I thought MCPD never charged students. Why is this different? |
Good! I hope they find who did this and charge the student appropriately. The kids at our ES and MS have been destroying the bathrooms. Pulling off soap dispensers, tearing up the toilets. One kid at our MS was found with a toilet seat in his locker. They need to find the kids who are basically destroying the schools and implement some solid consequences. It’s become out of hand. |
What MS school in MCPS has lockers big enough to fit a toilet seat? Ours are too shallow and skinny to fit a soccer or basket ball! |
