Any luck finding a pharmacy with Wegovy 0.25 mg in stock?

I just got prior authorization for Wegovy after a long back-and-forth with my insurance - but it seems that none of the pharmacies in the area have it in stock. Has anyone had luck finding it recently in Montgomery County?

Try a pharmacy at a large chain (Giant, Safeway, CVS) in a less wealthy part of the county

The lower doses are tough to come by. I got a prescription for 0.5 mg filled last week but it took lots of phone calls, waiting, transferring the prescription, and more waiting. I got it at a Harris Teeter in nova. Good luck!

Also try community pharmacies. I.e., not the chains.

They should just put this stuff in the water supply

According to the manufacturer, you should expect shortages for .25, .5 and 1 through September.

If you haven’t started, you may want to talk to your doc about an alternative.

I sought to find Wegovy and ended up just switching to Ozempic, was able to get it through my insurance no problem, but finding it in stock was a bit tough. Then after several months and some slightly uncomfortable side effects (nausea/vomiting), I switched to Mounjaro and have had 10x more success/weight loss with zero side effects. I’ve had good luck getting both Ozempic and Mounjaro through Ultra Care Pharmacy in Columbia. They ship it to my house.

This is pp, btw Ultra Care Pharmacy can give you realistic updates about whether you’ll be able to reliably get the dosages you’d need of Wegovy, they’re really plugged into the supply chain for these and other in-demand drugs

Have you tried your insurance’s mail subscription option? That’s the only way I can get Wegovy.

I get compounded semaglutide from a pharmacy in Leesburg. It’s made to order so you can get whenever dose you need. So much easier than trying to find it in stock every month.
