ACPS has a survey out to gather comments on how the public thinks the ESSR funding (originally 54 million, now spent down to 36 million) should be spent.
But in December Chair Alderton and ACPS central office staffer Dominic Turner said all the money was earmarked. It was in response to a question from Elnoubi. Why haven't members of the school board caught on to this as they were all in the room? Is the money available or not? Why are they asking for input if the money is spoken for? |
Remember when they spent a huge chunk of ESSR money on plastic dividers and then classrooms sat empty for almost a full year? I guess those just ended up in a landfill. Who knows what ACPS did with the rest of the money! |
The spending documents don't have any details about the money that was spent. Just general categories.
The link to give feedback doesn't actually go to a feedback page. This is a huge amount of money that is unaccounted for, central office AND the School Board don't know what is going on with the remainder of it. This is a little peek behind the ACPS and School Board curtain. It shows a small piece of what is likely complete incompetence. But I'm so glad they are focused on changing the school board elections that they don't have the authority to change. Hope Elnoubil remembers Kay-Wyatt and central office telling him that the money was spoken for. Why did they lie to him? |
