| My oral sensory kid cannot tolerate many food due to textures. The dentist tells me that I need to help him to brush teeth because he does not brush well with many plaque on them. He need brace one day because many of his teeth are crowding. How do a kid with sensory issue tolerate braces procedures and I think braces need to be worn for at least a year, right? |
| Mine did fine. Lots of complaining for a few weeks but it got better. Schedule more dental cleanings. Every 3-4 months vs 6. |

My daughter is very sensitive too, but she got used to them. They hurt like a mofo in the beginning, so we used lots of motrin and wax. Eventually we moved to nothing. She built caluses on her gums/lips.
Every person and treatment is different, we were 6 months in a jaw spreader, and then we're going on almost 1.5 years of braces. That includes phase I and phase II. We have maybe 6-8 months left. |
