My FIL is planning to move to MoCo to be closer to my family, and would like to rent an apartment. He's looking for a relatively affordable 1 BR (<$2000/month). Doesn't want to be in a senior community, but would like some other older folks around (he's in his late 70s). Searching on rental websites seems overwhelming - there are SO many options. Does anyone have recommendations based on personal (or parents') experience? |
The Grand (on Nicholson in Rockville) has a good amount of seniors but it may be slightly above his price range. The Promonade in the outskirts of Bethesda (rental via condo owners) also has a good amount of seniors and prices typically include all utilities and more in his price range. It's a very nice looking building with good amenities. |
The Promenade on Pooks Hill Road would be perfect. My parents used to live there and loved it. Lots of community events and a wide range of ages. |
Thank you - this is super helpful! Checking it out now. |
. Even if it months later, I would love to hear back on how this works. I may have an older single sibling moving here in a year or two on a similar budget. |
