I just don't like early sunsets / short days. I don't love humidity or excessive heat either, but I still prefer spring/summer to winter overall.

Oh, please. October is the best month EVERYWHERE.

Including here in DC.

Immediate PP here, and I prefer heat to cold but find August dreadful, thus its low rank. I also really like fall. Hate cold and dark.

I think January is far and away the worst month—darkest, coldest, just miserable.

I don't care if you disagree. Give me summer over gray winter any day. I need sun and warmth.

No, November-December are worse because it just keeps getting darker and darker. At least by January I know the days will start getting longer. And while February weather sucks, I can at least tell it's not dark crazy early by then.

DC only has three good months: March, April and May.

The rest is pure misery.

Give me layers. Hell is when you're nearly naked and still sweating while doing nearly nothing.

I agree but I put September at the bottom because I grew up North of here and every year I think it should be fall but actually it’s just like. Extra August. At least I expect actual August to be miserable. First half of October is terrible too because there are mosquitoes everywhere but it’s not cool enough to wear long sleeves/jeans yet. Second half of October is lovely.

October is lovely in theory, but I have ragweed/fall allergies, so...
