What time would you arrive at the airport?

IAD, Friday night in July, 9pm international flight? Flying a foreign carrier so can’t do TSA-Pre. Just spitballing here for planning purposes.

What airline? Most foreign airlines participate in TSA pre-check.

I'd get there around 6:30pm and then just hang in a lounge with my extra time.

No earlier than 8pm. It drives some people here nuts, but we often show up a half hour before a flight and have never missed one yet.

I do 2 hours for international, 1 for domestic. Never missed a flight yet.

Half an hour for an international flight won’t work a large percentage of the time.

Agree, I've actually missed a flight getting to IAD an hour before because there was a large line at security.

I’ve never been told that I couldn’t use TSA pre at IAD, no matter the airline/destination. But agree on 2 hours. It was a total madhouse 10 days ago on a Friday evening. 2 hours was plenty, but I wouldn’t have wanted to cut it closer.

They typically start boarding for international flights much earlier than domestic.
No way would I try to arrive just an hour before my flight at IAD.
I do about 3 hours.
