What happens if put on waitlist and never hear anything back from school?

Does the school send out letters or emails eventually or do you assume you are still on waitlist until next school year starts or forever? What is the end of the waitlist wait?

You assume you're on the waitlist for the year you applied for. If you're interested in the next year you must reapply generally. I would stay in contact with the admissions office if you remain interested. That can help. Make sure your application is complete.

I would assume the bolded. Late August waitlist movement is more of a public school thing, though.

No, you never hear anything and then your application is permanently shelved in August. The new application period starts in mid September.

It's the same at all schools (I've been through it many times). There is no closure or final letter or anything like that.
