There is a whole different thread about ATS, but what’s different about Campbell? Montessori, ATS and immersion are all obviously unique from other APS schools. But other than being next to the nature center and having more outdoor learning, what’s really different than any other APS elementary?
I Want to understand what sets it apart. |
For one thing, the teachers loop with their kids so they have the same class in k/1 (those grades are combined), 2/3 and 4/5. It sounds like a lovely program - I wish we’d applied for a lottery spot there when my kids were little. |
No direct experience but friend’s kid goes there. It’s a smaller Title I school. Class sizes are small. Like ATS they adopted Wilson’s reading before everyone else (as least that’s what I remember). They actually have a really good PowerPoint online describing what the school is about. They do EL learning and the website describes it well. Not sure how that works wi the CKLA. It would be a good question to ask. It has a slightly “crunchy” vibe. Overall it seems like a great school and like ATS it is very diverse (but higher poverty and more Hispanics). |
K/1 hasn't been combined in like 10 years. But teachers do loop. Campbell is an accredited EL school. If anything it has more of a program than ATS which a "school with walls and doors." https://eleducation.org/ |
