Restaurant Family Meal Takeout for Guests

Anonymous
What are some of your go-to family meal deals for restaurant takeout/delivery good enough for casual guests?

My top are:

Uncle Julio's for fajitas
Mon Ami Gabi's roast chicken meal
Moby Dick
Big Greek Cafe
Don Pollo peruvian chicken

Any others worth a try? I love that the above places come with sides/salad, appetizers and dessert in some cases. So easy and pretty reasonable priced.

What area? May be able to give suggestions that aren’t chains.

Junction Diner in Chevy Chase has a different family meal each day and looks interesting. I’m Eddie Cano is a good candidate, too.

It doesn't seem as good a deal as the Uncle Julio's fajita kit.

We also do the Uncle Julio’s fajitas (they do enchiladas too) or don pollo. Nando also does family style takeout but I prefer don pollo. Mama Luisa can also work. I think once I did empanadas from el patio and/or la limena also but I don’t know if there were sides.
The pizza at picoloit piatti s really good and you could do a few of the arugula salads in the side—they are great.

Indian. We get a couple of different curries, biryani, palak paneer, lots of naan, and an assortment of appetizers. Way more fun with a big group, when you can order lots of variety.

I never ever cook. Uncle Julio’s fajitas or subs from Potomac Grocer or family fried chicken meal from Founding Farmers or family meal from Benihana or family meal from Panda Express or chicken pot pie from Costco. We do a lot of catering from Balduccis too.

NP. This is a great idea. I don’t know why I never thought of this.

Fancier and pricier than some other options but we LOVE the paella from Pescedeli. If you call ahead, you can reserve one of their paella pans (for a refundable deposit). It’s a beautiful presentation and delicious. We like the seafood best, but the chicken is good too.
