Suddenly Free Mem Day Weekend

Cousins agreed to house and babysit over Memorial Day weekend, so we are suddenly free. Obviously we don’t have a ton of time to plan now. We like everything— city, mountains, beach. I guess we’d prefer to avoid huge crowds. We’ll probably end up taking the dog (cousins aren’t big dog people), so some place within driving distance. I’ll name some places we have been recently because I think we’d rather go to someplace different: Charlottesville, VA; VA Wine Country; Pittsburgh; Philly.

I really like Deep Creek. There are some fun places to explore around there, including wineries, breweries, hiking, and of course the lake. I really like "Englanders", (in Oakland) which is an antique shop and old-fashioned diner, and has the best milkshakes! There's a "tiny house" community near-by where you can rent one of their tiny homes and stay, or plenty of other hotels/condos around the lake.
