Boss Retiring - I've not been told but senior leadership knows

Anonymous
My boss's job requires Board approval, and she is retiring. I've heard through the grapevine (including dates) that she is retiring, and our board meeting happened last week. I have not been approached by leadership about the opportunity to step up. If the Board was informed of her retirement last week but her retirement date is after the next Board meeting, do I still have hope or is a more likely scenario that a replacement candidate was floated at last week's meeting?

If you want the job, approach them.

Lmfao why would anyone here know that? No companies operate the same, no board thinks the same, nobody knows if you’re any good, nobody know anything besides there’s a vacancy.

If you know none of this and haven’t been molded for the role, they’re 100% choosing someone else.

Do you know anyone in senior leadership? Ask them about the process.
