What math SOL do kids in Algbra 1 honors take?

My DS is in 7th grade taking algebra 1 honors. I wonder what math SOL will he take this year? Maybe 7th grade math? Thanks!

They take the Algebra 1 SOL, which is 9th grade math. They took the 7th grade SOL in 6th grade.

He would take the Algebra I end of course SOL which is for high school credit.

NP Why is "end of course" used when referring to Algebra and Geometry SOLs? Is there any Algebra or Geometry SOL that is not EOC?

Does the SOL result count towards their grade?

Your DS took the 7th grade SOL last year. They will take the Algebra I SOL.

I would be surprised if it did. The SOLs have not counted towards grades in ES, I can’t see why they would in MS or HS.

It's just how the data is recorded/stored at Virginia Dept. of Education. Earlier math courses are labeled by grade level, even if you take it in a lower grade (e.g., 7th grader honors math takes the 8th grade math SOL even though their course is called Math 7H).
