I'm looking for recommendations for a truly comfortable sandal I can wear on vacation while walking a lot. I want to be able to wear them with cute sundresses - if I wasn't going to be walking for miles I would wear high-end flip flops or a strappy sandal, but I need something more supportive but more attractive than my hiking sandals!
I need something more supportive than a purely flat sole, too - something with a bit of a rise at the heel. These are one option I'm considering based on reviews: https://www.zappos.com/p/munro-pisces-platinum-lizard-print/product/8124241/color/672350?PID=7876402&AID=11554337&utm_source=Meredith+Corporation&splash=none&utm_medium=affiliate&cjevent=2b8de8dcf37911ed8237596b0a82b82a&utm_campaign=4522830&utm_term=7876402&utm_content=11554337&zap_placement=5545748%7Cn17df68c4ac654e84b1b779af584ea95a23%7C%7C1684193726292%7C Any other suggestions? |

What about white fashion sneakers?
Olukai has some cute and comfortable leather sandals, but I wouldn't want to walk miles in them. The problem is most "supportive" sandals have an old-lady look to them (including the ones you posted, IMO). |

What about birks? I wore my Gizehs all over Europe with dresses.
Many days I would start in sneakers and then want more air flow and would switch to the Gizehs. No issues with walking on streets/cobblestones/etc. |

I have a pair of wedge sandals from Dr. Scholls that are really comfy. I find that for me, a sandal is only good to wear for long periods if it has wider straps and a covered heel area.

I am bringing some white fashion sneakers, but I think my feet will get really hot on the days we're outside in hot humid weather so I want a sandal option. Completely agree on the old lady look. Trying to find the cutest old lady sandals I can, I guess....
I have Olukai flip flops and I love them; I will look at their other sandals as well. |
| Oh--no, no, NO. Those are the most hideous looking things. |

These are super-comfortable and good quality. I won't call them "old lady shoes" because I don't want to be an ageist, but I will say they're the cutest, podiatrist-recommended shoe I've seen.

NP - and I've been eyeing another pair of shoes from that brand. I'm glad to hear you like them! Have you had them for a while - have they held up through regular use all right? |

Not an elevated heel but I posted these in another thread. I just bought the black soulmate ones:

| Those have their own kind of cool, OP. The strappy metallic high heel is kind of played out, very Bachelor contestant looking, in my opinion. Go Full Granny and have a great vacation!! |
Get a pair of slip-ons that are ventilated. I have a nude pair that I wore all over Disney last summer. They're super-comfy for walking, go with everything, and my feet never got hot. Mine are sold out but lots of similar options available if you search--these are just two examples. https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=559913002&vid=1&tid=onpl000078&kwid=1&ap=7&gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw04yjBhApEiwAJcvNoVL9lf16LJkVzIevyOFFj_AkcJYC6KsQQ36WF_CsybRnJ-iqM2mlGRoC7qcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#pdp-page-content https://www.nordstrom.com/s/ilse-jacobsen-tulip-slip-on-sneaker-women/5906184?&color=408 |
Except that OP wants sandals, not sneakers. |

I think MIA has some platform sandals that look more current and fresh than the ones you posted:

Liz Joy was just raving about these in a reel (her blog/instagram is purejoyhome and creater of Marea). She is stylish and lovely. She said she was in city, walked six miles in them, no blisters, and they were incredibly comfortable. |
They look appropriate for your 68 yr old great aunt. |
