| Rising Junior in MCPS and wondering how you're all feeling? |
| With so few admitted to top tier schools, I doubt most are happy with where their kids ended up. |
| Your money doesn’t buy everything. |
Except it buys more than other schools in MCPS. |
| I don't recommend "W" schools for sensitive, emotional kids. |

Satisfied - we had entirely predictable results. No surprises. My high school senior was accepted into all his targets and safeties, and not his reaches. Since he had high scores, he was given merit aid at all his safeties, which have a 50% acceptance rate... and he is actually going to one of them! |
| Richer schools, more competition for the same schools. |
| I don't have a senior this year, but my WCSH junior has been summarizing the college admissions for the year and I'm stunned-- so many top school admits this year (way more than prior years). I told her they've taken all of the 'Churchill spots' and to expect no one to be admitted to these schools next year! |

My kid got into ED school. Was a school considered a reach for everyone. A lot of kids going to great schools. But I’m sure there are disappointed kids, as there are at every school in the country. Some because they overshot and thought they should be at a higher ranked school than profile suggested. And some because it is tough out there and too many kids apply to the same schools. In the end though, most are probably going to schools that are aligned with their stats and abilities. And I consider UMD to be a great school that gets a lot of top MCPS students.
