Been with girlfriend for 7 months. She enjoys gifts/holidays. She has a kid from a prior marriage. She’s the first single mom I’ve dated. Am I supposed to get her a Mothers Day gift?
Nah, don’t set expectations just yet! Give her $15 flowers from a supermarket or if you are too lazy to go out, send her some kind of a romantic delivery - chocolates?
But yes I think she is expecting something, sadly.
Some flowers or a box of chocolates is probably the best idea.
How old is her child? Can you help the child with a card /gift/outing?
Once you're serious, yes, probably. You get a pass for this one.
A bunch of flowers would be appropriate.
Of course not, unless you are dating your mother.
No! I’m a divorced mother of 2 and do not expect anything from my significant other of 2 years. I was just glad he got a gift for his own mother.
A gift certificate for a spa treatment, like a massage or pedicure might be nice if you're over 35.
Id just say happy Mother’s Day, no gift.
Its not your biological kid and you've not made a decision to marry this woman and be step or adoptive parent to her child so no you don't need to. That being said, nobody needs no reason to give anybody a gift if they want to on any day. People give mothers/fathers day gifts to people who have cats or dogs. |
Don't overthink it. She's a mom, you're dating her, it is a small thing to buy a bouquet of flowers and card and wish her a happy mother's day.
Card is OTT but yes to a handful of flowers or small box of chocolates.
|
just buy some nice flowers from a store - it's a nice gesture.
