Alternatives to Care.com?

Hi all,
I am not interested in using an agency (am thoroughly aware of what they do). I want to hire a private caregiver, preferably someone with at least a CNA credential or more. Has anyone had luck anywhere other than Care.com?

Yes to word of mouth. Also if the site you use doesn't do background check, you need to do that. Make sure they are bonded and insured too.

Also, make sure the person is legally here, especially if you have a government job.

Unity Health Care, Capital Caring, The Key. The other route is to hire a geriatric care manger who has a few CNAs working for them privately. The hourly rate is not cheap, so do your homework.
