intradermal allergy testing?

Has anyone had intradermal allergy testing? I had it this morning, and had a large reaction to cat and to dog. After leaving the allergist's office, my skin reaction got worse. I emailed a pic to the dr, and he called back and said that he was prescribing me a steroid cream and also a steroid - prednisone. At first, he said try the cream, and if I thought I needed it, I could take the prednisone which would be 3 pills per day for 3 days. Anyone with experience? I had the test at 11 am this am, and it grew, but now I think it is stabilized. It is just a local reaction on my lower arm. I am hoping the reaction will calm down with just the steroid cream and my daily dose of zrytec.
