Is the YMCA Bethesda location worth it for one person? It seems high at $100 for one person - how are the classes? - they won't let you try even one before joining - I think you have to pay $30 to do that.
I don't plan on using the pool - is this worth it or other gyms better in the area? |
Good you won't use the pool, as it's super crowded in the summer, which is almost upon it. My spouse likes the gym early in the morning, classes are hit or miss, depending on the class and the instructor. Find an instructor you like, and stick with it |
How much is the membershio? Can you do a monthly pass? |
If you are solo and won’t use the pool, I suggest you shop around. |
That seems high if you aren’t using the pools. We did it 2 years in a row and it was great for a 3-person family, but I never did classes. |
Is this the same as open air community pool on Hillandale Rd? |
It was so crowded I left after a year. I used the pools year-round, and the machines. No matter what time I went, i had to wait for a machine. The pools were so crowded I couldn't swim quality laps. Sometimes I went to the Silver Spring one, but it was no better. |
No I can 100% say with absolute certainty it is not worth the price ESPECIALLY if you won’t use the pools. The classes are hit or miss (mostly miss), and you can certainly find a better (or equivalent) facility for much less with better (or equivalent) classes. |
What is the current membership pricing? |
Go to the St James. Way better classes |
