Puppy is just shy of 6 months old and eats 1.75 cups x 3 times a day of Purina Pro large breed kibble. I find it hard to figure out how much to feed her because the bag estimates are based on how big she will be when she is full grown but we don’t have a clue given that she is a mixed breed rescue.
For context she is around 55 pounds right now and eats everything I give her. She isn’t overweight or too skinny from what I can tell. Should I assume she will be close to 100 pounds? |
| If her weight looks ok, you are fine. Don't stress and adjust if she starts acting overly hungry or getting chubby. |
Thanks - the mixed breed part makes this much more difficult to figure out how big she might get and how much to feed her. |
| It's a guessing game. Sounds like you're guessing right for now. If she starts to look chubby or too lean, adjust! Dogs change weight much faster than people do, so you aren't dooming her to a life of unhealthiness if she's a few pounds overweight for a week. |
