Yes. I rinse it off. That was the guidance when I was learning to cook. Somewhere along the way that guidance changed though, and they told people not to rinse/wash their poultry. So technically you both are right, depending on what guidance you listen to. |
Best not to. You end up with contaminated sink and dirt water spray. Cooking is what cleans it. |
I know you do not need to, but I don’t like the juice on a chicken it’s slimy. It’s easier to Pat dry chicken after a rinse.
So yes I do but you don’t have to. It’s a preference. |
sure, if you want to give the raw juices a ride around your kitchen counter and sink. |
No, why would anyone do this? |
Why is water getting on your counter? |
USDA says do not wash your chicken!

My husband washes it in the sink, then pats it dry with a towel. Then he cleans the entire sink with soap and rinse. |
Nope.
We've done this one |
Of course not! |
3 feet around the sink is considered the splash zone. Droplets of water (with chicken bacteria in them) can aerosolize and land on the counter. |
Yes. I rub a mixture of salt and vinegar over the chicken and rinse with water in a colander. I do not pat dry as the water drips out sufficiently.
I then clean my sink and counter with soap and water. Wipe with vinegar spray. |
