Breast exam that will do biopsy & Mammogram/ ultrasound in on stop? (DC or DMV) best places in the DMV?

What breast exam clinics or locations do biopsy during the follow-up ultrasound/ mammogram appointment?? Where have you found the best treatment?
Having a follow up mammogram and ultrasound at Medstar in Foxhall. I did the 1st at Medstar NE. I didn't realize if they find something that needs a biopsy they don't do it on sight.. so you have to wait for the results to get to your doctor then have yet another appointment somewhere else. Which seems like a very unnecessary delay of service. I know there are places that will do the needed biopsy right there during the follow-up ultrasound/ mammogram in the same appointment. (Have family members that have had this done but the live in another state.) But, I don't know enough about the area to know where to start looking.

Me either. When I felt a lump (which was in fact cancer), my PCP gave me an order for a mammogram and (if necessary upon reading the mammogram) ultrasound, which I ended up doing at the same appointment once they read the mammogram. But I needed to schedule the biopsy separately and waited maybe a week or 10 days for it.

FWIW, I didn't start treatment for another 6 weeks or so after that. Because you have to meet with oncologists and surgeons, decide who you're going to trust with your life, and settle on a treatment plan and get scheduled. I'm still here, almost 10 years later. Don't let yourself get anxious about the potential wait for a biopsy. I know it's hard, but you really do have the time.

Insurance won't cover it all in one stop - that's why you keep having to go back

Bay Radiology in Annapolis. They do all of it and insurance (Carefirst BCBS) covered all of it on the same day.

That would be unusual, op. Breast biopsies are typically not simple or quick. Getting the exact right sample is a fairly involved process. They won’t have the right staff and equipment sitting idle waiting for someone to need it. It would have to be scheduled.

My breast biopsy was simple and quick and was done right after the ultrasound (I think -it was several years ago now). I am pretty sure the sequence was regular mammogram where they saw the spot and then I was asked to come back in for either or both a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound, and the biopsy was done at that appointment.

Anyway, I went to the Breast Center run by Fairfax Radiology.

I'd encourage you to get it all straight with insurance because there can be pre-authorizations involved.
