I see here that many people eat a lot of chicken and salmon to get their protein. I like salmon a lot but chicken not so much. I get tired of salmon easily. If I eat salmon twice a week and chicken once, what else can I eat for protein that is not red meat (I mostly avoid but would be willing to do 1x/week?) I love
Chickpeas and beans and lentils but probably can’t do more than once/week due to caloric content. Can seafood be an option? Fake meat? I just don’t want to burn out on salmon and I really have to force myself to eat chicken. |
Tofu
Eggs |
If you’re worried about the caloric content of beans and lentils something is wrong. |
Tuna? Steak? Pork? Lamb? |
Oh, just saw you said no red meat.
Lots of other seafood options. Cod. Halibut. Mussels. Crabs. |
I really do not understand your comments about beans and lentils. That is absolutely where you should be getting more of your protein. And eggs. |
Eggs
Turkey and ham Shrimp, pork chops, pulled pork tacos |
Protein heavy yogurt. Pea based protein powder, I use Huel.
Can you do some variety (marinaded, sauce, pan fried etc) of chicken that you may like? |
Shrimp or any fish other than salmon |
While they both have protein are not high protein sources relative to calories. Not saying there is anything wrong with them, but if you are say aiming for 100 g of protein it will take a lot o calories to reach that with beans. OP- what about lean ground meats like turkey or beef? What about something like pork tenderloin? |
I make tacos and chili with ground Turkey. |
You can’t google this? List of foods high in protein? |
Have you tried all the other types of fish? White fishes abound. |
+ 1. Plus other fish. And greek yogurt. |
Yes, other seafood, soybeans, eggs, yogurt, etc.
Also, if you make smoothies, add chia seeds as it's a good source of plant protein. |
