If I work for a non-profit 501c3 org, and have to occasionally attend off hour events, can I write off the mileage and parking because I volunteered at the off hour event?

You can find information on what is deductible when volunteering for a 501c3 event. If your employer is not paying you for the off-hour events, then you are volunteering and qualify for the deductions included in this document.
