Has anyone hired Home Depot or Lowes to install a basement laundry cabinet, counter, sink, and faucet? We have a 36 inch wide finished space ready including the capped off hot/cold water lines and drain pipe. We are happy buying whatever they have in stock -- it does not need to be high end.
Curious about cost and whether you thought it was a good deal |
| They subcontract you too you are better off hiring someone directly. |
| I didn't know people actually used those sinks let alone have one installed. |
Subcontractors are used so probably it doesn’t matter which one you use. |
I use mine all the time. Don't you do repairs with messy things to clean like paint brushes, or need to hand wash laundry? |

I would suggest finding a reputable handyman rather than toss the dice with whoever home depot contracts this out to.
Installing a couple base cabinets, don't forget the countertop, and a couple wall cabinets is something most handyman can easily do. And is the plumbing is already roughed in and ready to hook up (including the drain) it's easy to install a utility sink. |
Um, what? Of course people use them. Do you live in a condo? |
| Throw me in the camp of needing a laundry tub. |
You can use any sink to do these things, as you hopefully already know from days where you didn’t have the luxury of an additional laundry tub. It is nice to have one though. |
