Anyone know what the long term plans are for Call Your Mother's pink tiny house in the Chesterbrook Shopping Center?
Their food is terrific, but the pink food truck with fake white picket fence is totally out of place. We are recent McLean transplants from DC and are used to a storefront vibe. Again, love their food but wish they had a restaurant/storefront because standing in a long line in a hot parking lot with a toddler and an infant with no shade is ZERO fun. Also, where exactly are we supposed to go to the restroom? Does this shopping center have an open door policy with all the other vendors? Can we just walk in to another place and use the restroom? Starbucks was our hero on this front earlier today, but going forward this seems like not a very good option. |
| You sound pretty whiney. It’s a cute addition to what was until recently a food wasteland. Do you seriously need to have a restroom when getting to go bagels? I have a toddler, too, but just time it so you don’t need the restroom and get the food to go |
| Stop being a PITA, OP. |
| I think its adorable. Go back to DC. |
| No one is a suburban "transplant" from DC. Its the same metro area. Literally parts of the suburbs are indistinguishable from DC. |

Who are you people that seriously think a pink food truck with fake white picket fence is cute in a shopping center? Especially one that is still undergoing a renovation that is supposed to make it look high end?
The pink food truck looks like Minnie Pearl and Cousin Eddy should be sitting out front. |

Wasn’t the ORIGINAL CYM a trailer in Bethesda?
FYI, the Georgetown CYM storefront has no bathrooms, no seating. And hold on to your suburban whiney pants — Georgetown has NO PARKING. Can you imagine? The McLean location is a dream for picking up your bagels and running them home or to the park to enjoy. It’s not a Third Place (tm) like Sbux. But having parking is a game changer for those of us who don’t live in Georgetown. |
Stop sockpuppeting, OP. |
Op here -- who am I sockpuppeting? What a weird thing to say. People on Capitol Hill feel the same about what I'm saying about the McLean location. Call Your Mother needs to get their act together and start opening full restaurants/store front facilities with bathrooms. We were used to the one Capitol Hill and they have a bathroom. It's not great either. Again, food is good. They are in the suburbs now. I expected more. They are making money hand over fist. Time for them to start investing in the areas where they earn their money and cheapening the vibe of the areas where they are located. |
If you don't like their "storefront" and lack of amenities, don't buy food from them. That will show them! |
| It’s take out. You are supposed to take it home. |
|
So show your disdain for the how they treat the neighborhoods that they're located in by not frequenting them. |
Here’s a novel thought. Buy the business and then run it as you like. |
+1. I am thrilled that it has come to McLean. I knew it was coming but didn’t realize it had already opened. OP, pick up your bagels and go home and use the bathroom. |
