somewhere like Emerald Isle but with more to do?

| I've been to Emerald Isle several times, really enjoy renting a house on the beach, warm water, not too crowded. As my kid gets older, though, I think going somewhere with more to do would be nice so it can be a mix of relaxation and activities. Is there anywhere that isn't crowded but has more to do? We do take other trips, but I do appreciate a week at the beach. |

| I like Hilton Head and Corolla but they are more crowded. There is probably not low crowds with activities but maybe others have suggestions. |
