Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Anonymous
Just finished binging this and enjoyed it! I liked it more than season 2 of Bridgerton. I thought the leads had good chemistry. I enjoyed the secondary storylines as well.

I think they went a little too hard on the treatment of King George and Charlotte as savior but ah, it's a romance I guess.

I didn’t realize it was out yet! I just saw a preview today. Is it on Netflix? Yeah, Season 2 of Bridgerton was a bore.

Is that where they make up a fake black ancestry for Charlotte to make the woke people happy?

I also liked it better than the regular seasons.

What are you babbling about? It's fiction.

King George III and his wife Queen Charlotte are real people. Charlotte was a German princess with a thoroughly German ancestry. For some reason she is black in Bridgerton.

Just wait until you find out that there wasn’t really a Lady Whistledown.

I know it's fiction but I find the concept weird. Taking real people and changing their racial heritages to portray a world that never existed and, in real life, was highly racist and classist.

Np - obviously I know there is no Lady W but I just started listening to the first episode and there is no way that voice is Julie Andrews- is it?!

It’s not historically accurate in any way, it’s fantasy.

I wish I could have an entire show dedicated to Queen Charlotte. Loved this season so much

Loved the young actresses playing both Charlotte and Lady Danbury. I thought they must have studied the older actresses’ mannerisms acutely; the switching between times seemed pretty seamless to me.
