My Fios bill just jumped from 150 to 176 for tv, internet and home phone

Is this a rip off price?

Thanks

It's how that business operates. They lure you in with a low price that lasts for a year or two. After you get used to the regular price, they start escalating it until you bail for another provider.

I just switched back to Verizon for the third time after cycling through RCN/Astound and Comcast/Xfinity.

The price you are paying isn't crazy high but I'm sure you could get better.

That's almost all due to TV. Who pays for TV? Are you retired?

We pay $99 for fios gigabit and phone and $65 for YouTube TV so you could probably do better unless that price includes premium channels. At some point is cheaper to get the bundle than getting all the streaming services.

I have Fios wifi with middle tier tv package(no premium channels), pay $135/month. Bought my own router, no home phone.

I pay $70/month for fios gigabit in nova. I don't know why anyone would have "television service" or "home phone service" in this day and age. Like - you literally wait until stuff happens to come on a certain channel in order to watch it? This ain't 1984

And you don't pay for any online tv streaming services?

Yep, I locked in $64.99/month for gigabit for 10 years. I’ve never owned a home phone.

We pay $50/month for 300 GBPS FIOS.
- Home phone transferred to Google Voice 10+ years ago. Bought an adapter (Obihai - $30ish one time) and free home phone number forever..

- Netflix, Hulu/Disney/ESPN+ bundle, Prime, Showtime, HBO, that's it I think) - about $15/month. Shared across extended family so our share is about $15. Rarely watch anything on Disney+.

- Apple TV+ - we add/drop this whenever there's a free promotion and we have bandwidth to watch something on there. $0

- Antenna (one time $30) for local channels in HD (including Superbowl, which is really the only sports event we care for). We also watch other sports occasionally on ESPN+.

So.. $65/month, all in.

Is this legal?

$75 for YouTube TV
$195 a month to Verizon for unlimited data for two cell phones, internet
$15 a month or whatever it is each for Netflix and Disney and whatever is included with Prime, then anything else we ad hoc add then cancel if there's anything we want to watch on any other service.

Don't know; Don't care; AFAI can recall, some streamers encouraged password sharing to increase market share a while back. Amazon knows exactly how many people shop using one account and where things get ordered from/shipped.
