| Hi- can anyone familiar with Bethesda public schools help me identify the best elementary schools in the area? Any rankings or commentary would be appreciated! Thanks in advance |
| Carderock Springs used to be one of the best. I sent kids there who are now college freshmen |
It's going to come down to which school suits your family better. They all teach the same curriculum and have similar student-teacher ratios. |
| They are much more alike than different (although parts of Bethesda feed to Rosemary Hills which is a k-2 school, which some people like and some don’t). |
| They are all good. |
| Westbrook and Somerset |
| They're all pretty similar. Note some have more income diversity than others, simply due to some lower-cost housing being within their area. Some Bethesda ESes are only single-family homes (not even townhouses) just due to geography. |
| Wyngate is in flux, with a newish principal who'll soon be leaving, and her replacement not yet known. |
| Oh please - ALL of the Bethesda elementary schools are terrific, and you likely know this. Troll, what possible reason do you need to compare them in this demeaning way? |
| My school is terrible. OP, please don't move into my zone. |
It's DUCM! Everyone's school is terrible. Unless their school is awesome and it's everyone else's school that's terrible. |
Agree any MCPS school is terrific. Comparing them is just an exercise in hair-splitting. The same kid will do the same at any of them because that has more to do with their home life and parental education levels. |
| Look at the number of kids at each school. Some schools are bursting at the seams and others have empty classrooms. |
Specifically: Ashburton Bethesda Burning Tree The rest have available space. |
Not geography. Zoning policies. |
