Are Skechers (sneakers) very uncool?

I was leafing through a magazine and found an ad with Martha Stewart wearing the same sketchers that I do. I guess I can we can add this to the list of ways in which I am cringe. Shrug.

Its definitely going around the elem schools.. there is some song or phrase about it. My kids were saying it until we threatened to only buy them sketchers.

They are, but I have purchased them (I gave them to my 80 year old mom because they ran large and fell of my feet).

DH has a pair and they are no worse than the other dorky things he puts on his feet.

More importantly, i watch a lot of daytime tv while i work from home and the daytime ads are all pushing their "no bend down" slip on sneakers for old people who can't lean over to tie their shoes. That's about their current market, right?
