need help finding a coffee table

I've been looking for so long that they all just seem ugly, but have guests arriving in a couple weeks so would really like to find something great. I'd like something that is solid wood and *not* trendy. We have a small living room, so needs to be small to mid size (44" max). We have a solid mix of wood types/colors, mostly walnut and cherry so anything in those families would work color-wise. Any suggestions?

I have also been looking for a small-ish wood coffee table and think I’ve settled on buying one of those drum tables, but haven’t picked a specific one yet. I’m not sure if this considered “trendy” though.
