PPs, no one cares what your kids' MAP scores are (though I'm curious about the "99.99%" since it's not expressed that way on the MAP Student Progress report - do you mean "99-99-99" or are you just making stuff up?). In any event, individual scores don't matter once your DC is in the lottery pool. If you want to know how the waitlist works, you can do what I did and call or email DCCAPS and they will tell you. Basically, they go back to the pool once there is a critical mass of slots open from the last round of admits. They will keep doing this as families decline. It's entirely possible though more unusual to get admitted near the time that school starts, if families decide to opt for their home school at the last minute due to commuting or other issues.
