Two mom households - what do you do for Mother's Day?

Another DCUM post got me wondering about what other lesbian families do - does one spouse do more of the nice stuff for the other, do you both do nice things for each other, nothing at all? Our son just turned two so he still doesn't really understand. My preference is to do nothing at all.

I think wishing each other happy mother's day and maybe doing something nice as a family is good but not so much with cards/presents/etc.

What do you like to do? For years, my husband was out of town for work this week. I had a nice day with the kids. Sometimes we went out to eat. Sometimes we ordered in. Sometimes we went outside to something for the day. Plan something together.

We do stuff together. We give each other a gift and get our kid to do a card for both of us. We also have to celebrate with my MIL which makes it all a lot her to be honest….. I don’t love it, but it is what it is.

Some years we don’t do much of anything- lately we will take the boys out to dinner or some such. They usually make a little card for each of us, though this year we might just get a text with a gif.

We each send our own mothers flowers or the like.
