I like to read case studies of people in leadership roles performing extraordinarily. Philippe Petit has written a few books about his illegal 1974 high wire walk between the two Twin Tower buildings in NYC. https://www.amazon.com/Reach-Clouds-High-Between-Towers-ebook/dp/B005OR07I4?ref_=ast_author_mpb Here's a book on Coco Chanel: Mademoiselle: Coco Chanel and the Pulse of History by Rhonda K. Garelick Here's a story about the Australia II and the America's Cup sailing competition: Australia II and the America's Cup: The untold, inside story of The Keel by Joop Slooff (Author), R. Tsuchiya (Foreword) |
| John Keegan's Mask of Command is good if you're interested in in military history. |

Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman by Jon Krakauer (Author)
Jon Krakauer has other really great books. |
| What about History books about specific world leaders? |

48 laws of power.
If it’s good enough for jay z, it’s good enough for me (supposedly his favorite book) |
| Stephen Ambrose’s Band of Brothers explores the approaches of good leaders and bad leaders. |
|
The classic Profiles in Courage.
Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors |

Admittedly, some of these are about leadership gone wrong.
The Dark Queens All Thirteen: The Incredible Cave Rescue of the Thai Boys' Soccer Team American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup Conspiracy of Fools |
| Oooh, second Bad Blood. What about Mountains beyond Mountains? I like reading autobiographies and would recommend Shoe Dog (Phil knight) and Open (Andre Agassi). |
