What can my college freshman do for six weeks?

Anonymous
College freshman, home for the summer on May 15, has an internship that starts in early July. What temporary job can they do to make some money and fill the time so they are not just sitting around the house waiting for the internship to start?

Thanks for your ideas!

Seriously. Calm down helicopter mom. Let your kid be a kid or let him figure out how to get a job. They’re probably annoyed by your parenting style.

OR the kid is looking for a way to make $$ before beginning unpaid internship. Sheesh!

Dishwashing at a restaurant, as long as he’s upfront that it’s temporary

Because they need the money and I don't want them sitting around the house doing nothing for six weeks. You can spoil your kids if you want, but I'm not going to spoil mine.

You're just going to crowd source him a job instead? Tell him to figure out his own way to make money.

If your kid’s been away living in the dorms at college on your dime for the past 9 months, and not working, they’re a tad spoiled anyway.
