GM axing Chevy Bolt

We were very strongly considering a Chevy Bolt EUV, just hadn't pulled the trigger yet.

Not sure what we'll do now.

New Chevy equinox is best deal

Does Koons Chevrolet still have the $5k dealer's markup on the Bolts? We're interested in this model but absolutely refuse to pay over MSRP; in fact, we're somewhat insulted and have looked elsewhere.

They haven't stopped making them yet though. You can still "pull the trigger".

Makes sense. American car companies make SUVs and trucks.

The Equinox coming out is best EV coming out. It is main Reason Tesla is lowering prices. It is a well equipped SUV with next generations batteries at a 30k price point.

GM is getting ready to launch their EV Ultium platform that will be used in the coming years for the Blazer, Equinox and Silverado.

The Bolt platform is a couple of years old, which is a long time in the EV world. Having the model phased out may give some price breaks. Maybe.
I'm still looking for a nicely priced used Chevy Volt.

The Bolt is the perfect size for a second car for us (our primary car is a small electric SUV, second car now is a small compact gas car that's more than 10 years old). Maybe we can snap one up at clearance prices later this year... no need for the Ultium platform's better performance for a second car in our household.

The good deal on the new Chevy Equinox doesn't exist. The car is not yet for sale. And GM has clearly stated that they will prioritize manufacturing the most expensively optioned versions as long as they are limited by supply chain issues in how many they can produce.

The base model, or near base model Equinox, with a tax credit, would be a great deal. But it's a unicorn.

You will not snap one up at clearance prices. Used Bolts are selling for as much as new ones right now.

I know -- they're making 70,000 more this year, though, so maybe once they get the newer, bigger models out, people won't want the Bolts. (I'm talking about the EV, not the EUV.) Seems silly to kill it unless they need the manufacturing capacity, though, it's by far the cheapest EV on the market and the only one that uses CCS charging.
