If you move, do you keep your spot?

Hi Hive Mind! We are poised to match for preK-3 at an out-of-boundary elementary school we really like, that feeds a (also out-of-boundary) middle school we also really like. But we are planning to move (within DC) in the next year or two. Does our family have to move to the schools' boundaries to keep our spot? Or now that we've matched out-of-bounds, could we move anywhere in the city and stay at the elementary school we like, then move onto the middle school that we also like?

I looked at the FAQ on MySchoolDC but didn't find an answer.

Yes, you can stay in your school.

"Out-of-boundary students are entitled to attend their enrolled school through terminal grade."

This is correct but not accurate to OP’s question. OP is matched OOB through the lottery. The answer is that as long as she remains a District resident, her child can continue at that OOB school and will have feeder rights.
