| We kept Pencil Marks On the Wall and I love this, my DS grew so much in a year. Are people still doing this or they stopped? |
I have one that is hanging cardboard (decorated cute of course). I like that because if we ever move it can come with us and go up again. Or go in a baby box. |
I would've gotten that if I knew, we will be painting this summer and we just praying and hoping they skip that part of the bathroom/ |
Just mark it off so they won’t paint it or they definitely will. We do it in the inside of the coat closet door. When we moved we redid the lines on tracing paper and recreated them on our current door. My parents still live in the house I grew up in and the marks are on the inside of the basement door. Our kids love to be marked next to where my sibling and I were so they can compare themselves. |
| It's on a kitchen wall in our home and I love it. My kids are older teens now and I'm already wondering how to remove that part of the wall and bring it with me if we ever downsize and move from this house. |
| Support column in our living room. DS was so psyched the day his mark was taller than mine! |
| One wall in each of their bedrooms. When we moved out of our starter home, the wall marks were the things that I missed the most |
| They are in the rec room in our basement. I love it. We put my height up there years ago and it’s fun to see how much taller they are than me now. |
| Yes ours is on our pantry door. Still in use, as my young teens are still growing. |
| Why is Pencil Marks capitalized? Nobody brings writing implements into the bathroom. WTF? |
Same! Kids were 3 when we moved into our house. We marked everyone’s height inside the pantry door, including dh’s and mine. We kept it up every 6 months. Kids are 15 now. |
We do it Birthday, Last day of school, and First day of school. |
| My grandparents did this at the doorway of their kitchen for all the grandkids. We all loved looking at how we compared to each other and our past selves. |
|
Still doing it. We have it the kids bathroom. We got the bathroom repainted last year and had so recreate the marks again.
I also happened to measure the boys last week. 14 yr. old- 5'10" 1/2. 17 yr. old 6'0" 1/2. We also have ours. Mom 5'4". Dad 6'0". Love it. |

We have one like this:
