Yoga for beginners?

Anonymous
I'm stiff as a board (cant touch my toes even when i was a child in PE)and starting to feel it as I get older.

Is there a yoga place for me to try? My gym has yoga classes but I think I need some one on one sessions to start.

Check out yoga with Adrienne online. She has some terrific videos.

Where are you based? There is one in Bethesda I can recommend but it's not worth it if there's a long drive for you there and back. Though they do some online classes as well. Simon Says Yoga in Sangamore.

You could also ask at your gym front desk if they recommend a particular yoga class/teacher for beginners. Sometimes it's hard to figure out the level of a yoga class just by reading the descriptions, or one teacher tends to be slower/easier than another.

Where do you live? Many studios have, for example, small group 4-week beginner series or one-on-one private sessions. I’ve taught both and they’ve been a great experience learning firsthand the questions students have and helping with specific alignment and addressing specific student needs.
