MCAP Government test?

If a student is enrolled in AP Gov instead of NSL Government, do they still have to take the MCAP test or does the AP exam count if they pass with at least a 3? I noticed that the AP exam is scheduled for May 1st at the same time as the MCAP Government test. Does my child have to take both tests?
