Greater name recognition: Lehigh, Lafayette, Dickinson, Bucknell?

Outside of the DMV or NY/NJ areas which has greater name recognition? Not the recognition is super important but I have been surprised that none of my in-laws have heard of any of these.

From the west coast, hadn't even heard of Lafayette or Dickinson until I moved to the east coast.

No meaningful difference. People who know about colleges will know them all.

All expensive, need-aware, isolated (geographically & culturally) private colleges.

Haha also from the West Coast and only one I’d heard of was Dickinson. Maybe Bucknell for basketball or something?

I’m from an area of PA that’s a one hour drive from Lehigh & Lafayette, and 1.5 hours drive from Bucknell. So I’ve heard of all those because of that.

My husband from NC had never heard of those when we looked at schools for our son.

I'd say Lehigh or Bucknell, but not by a lot

I think Bucknell and Lehigh. I am from Chicago and spouse is from Colorado, and these were the 2 of the 4 we knew before our own kids looked at colleges.

Asian immigrant here. I only heard about Lehigh as a friend went there for a PhD degree years ago. It must be a decent school.

Bucknell for sure and maybe Lehigh. I’m from DC.

Bucknell. The others are only recognized on East Coast.

Bucknell has had admissions recruiters in California for 20 years.

Who cares whether the average Joe and Jane Schmuck has heard of your school. Go with the best fit and strongest programs.
