pre-k programs in NW DC/close-in Bethesda/Chevy Chase

My DD was born 4 days before the cut-off for DCPS and we have decided to hold her back. This means that she'll be ineligible for DC's pre-k the year before we want her to start K, but will have already finished her two year nursery school. What programs exist for these kids?

we are in the same situation (birthday is about 10 days before the DC cut off) and we're also likely going to hold back. As it stands now, we're going to repeat the 4 year old year at our preschool. I talked to the directors of our school as well as several other NW DC preschools by our house (st. columba's, ccbc, metropolitan, etc) and they all have a number of kids each year (10-20% of any given 4 year old class) that repeat the 4 year old year. Many going on to private school do this if they don't do private school PK since the private cut off for K is sept 1st or earlier.

Westmoreland Children's Center in Bethesda, it's just over the DC line on the other side of Western and has a pre-k program 5 days a week.

Temple Sinai has a Pre-K program for older fours.

Pre-K is out? I know of at least one child who was held back (Aug bday) and is in DCPS pre-K.

Junior Kindergarten at Harbor or Lowell.

I think it must differ from school to school. I know someone who successfully did that with a July birthday at Murch, but the Lafayette principal won't allow it.

i think it varies by school as well. I can also vouch that Lafayette does not allow it.

does anyone know a Pre-K for 4 year olds that is only 2 or 3 days a week in Bethesda?
