Where do you reliably find good fruit in the DMV? I feel like this should not be so difficult and yet....
I was visiting my mom in Texas over Easter and she had the best raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries that I have had in ages - from SAM'S. Yes, Sam's Warehouse. I bought blackberries and raspberries from Trader Joe's two days ago and they were meh. Had to take back apples because one was already rotten. I hate to say it, but I haven't had better luck with berries at Whole Foods either. And don't get me started on the nastiness of any store bought peach. Where do you go for good fruit in the area? Tell me your secrets. |

Peach Truck is very expensive but their fruit tastes good.
Berries have honestly been very hit or miss. The same brand of raspberries can taste delightful one week and terrible the next week at the same store. |
| Fresh market fruit is usually pretty good |
| OP, you remind me of Kramer in that Seinfeld episode. 😄 |
| farmers market for seasonal fruit |
| We generally like the fruit from wegmans. It’s a hike but worth it since my picky kids will eat nicer fruit from there. In the summer farmer’s market but nothing local is available here yet |
| Backyard garden and orchard. |
| Costco for good berries |
| It's just not the season here yet. Stuff grows in Texas so it is fresh. Anything here has either been trucked in or is apples stored over the winter. |
| Unless they are in season, I stick with frozen berries. |
| Asian markets for melons (several types, perfect ripeness every time I've gotten them), apples, asian pears. |
And mangoes! I've been buying several every week for the last couple of months, sometimes they need a couple of days to ripen, but they are always delicious. |

Wegmans, usually.
I won’t buy anything from Costco anymore. The bananas go from green to rotten. The berries are all mush. |
| Buy fruit thats in season. Or asian markets for stuff shipped when in season. Farmers markets still have some decent apples but those are last years no matter wher you buy them. |
Costco green grapes are so good. |
