Worth doing bodywork on used car before trading in at Carmax for ‘new’ used car?

I have a 2011 Volvo XC60 that I want to trade in towards a newer model XC90 (maybe 2016 or 2017). It needs about $3k of bodywork to clean up
some dings and replace a side mirror that was swiped. Is it worth the hassle of doing this work or just trade in as-is? I don’t want the hassle of a private sale so pretty set on CARMAX. |
